Amplifying Leadership of Local Youth (ALLY) in peace building and preventing violent extremism is for training of youth as multiplier on conflict transformation, advocacy, training facilitation and online constructive campaigning therough multi phased capacity development programme sponsored by FCA.

Targeted Intervention for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS under Link Worker Scheme (LWS) in North 24 Parganas district under NACP – IV in 100 villages for organizing Advocacy Activities, Local Village Level Meeting Development of IEC, Cluster Link Worker Award , Coordination & Facilitation of PLHA Network , Health Camp, Stigma Reduction Activities , Review Meeting , Social Marketing of Condoms, Mid Media Activities, Training of Link Workers.

There are many crafts which represent India’s rich cultural heritage but some are on a decline due to various economic and other factors. So Rural Development Society organized training programme for women on zari craft, tailoring, kantha stitching, aya /home nursing, room attended, motor cycle repairing, welding, beautification, mushroom cultivation, orchard planting etc during gap period of lock down. The program aims at building vocational skills in specialized areas for marketable skills enabling gainful engagement in future career of the trainees.

Upgradation of skill training on Pisci Culture & Piggery, Goatery and Duckery and demonstration for young people at Harekrishnapur for tribal, scheduled caste youth for a period of six months. After training the trained youth have started income generation by undertaking group pisci culture and piggery.

Upgradation of skill training on Tourism to enhance livelihood opportunity to the poor women and Youth through vocational training and thereby empowered them with capacity and skills on organic agriculture / horticulture, handicrafts and allied activities as well as alternative means of livelihood and conducted Self Employment and entrepreneurship Training on Tourism for women and tribal youth. The organization has extended support to trained youith to guide tourists for visiting various tourist spots in Bankura, Purulia, and Jhargram in West Bengal. Youth had also been trainined and oriented about advantages of Home stay by tourists staying close to nature, get firsthand knowledge of local food, culture and traditions, and other source of information The youth had been made trained and oriented in publicity about historical places and its importance to attract tourists, promotion of eco tourism and adventure activities for tourists, the historical and cultural traditions of local people residing in tourist spots, facilities to tourists in matters of transport, accommodation, food and recreation, provide factual and informative literature printed which highlight tourist spots their importance and other details, and make such literature available to tourists which will serve as a guide and provide necessary information to them in order to help them to explore, link with folk artistes for cultural shows on occasion of different fairs festivals with a view to attracting more and more tourists etc.

Relief for poor under Covid 19 Lockdown situation and Awareness for preventive measures on Covid 19 pendamic : In the wake of this deadly Covid 19 pandemic and the lockdown induced, the first priority of Rural Development Society was about how to reach out to its beneficiaries live in the remotest Junglemahal regions of our operational areas and urban slums, their survival, safety and their health. Therefore, during the lockdown period, RDS’s efforts, along with its grassroots partner CBOs, have been concentrated on reaching all beneficiaries with basic health and hygiene kits for their families. RDS focused on awareness generation and advocacy programmes for the target communities through small awareness camps and phone calls and sending messages, in keeping with the social distancing norms. The organisation has also distributed relief materials for ensuring food and supplies, medicines and nominal equipment to target beneficiaries. Awareness-building programmes covered topics like social-distancing, behaviour change, sanitization, use of masks, following government guidelines during the lockdown period and ways to protect people from community spreading of the epidemic.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Rural Development Society run the IGNOU study centre for students of General, Scheduled Caste, Dalits, Tribal, and Indigenous, Minority and other communities very successfully. The target students get education materials, coaching facilities, field visit, survey through the study centre. Students have been provided with coaching, guidance and learning materials.

Annual Tribal Cultural Program is organized every year to celebrate the glorious Anniversary of the Tribal Cultural Festival at foothills of Susunia. Tribal youth and women cultural groups from different blocks of the district participated in the programme and displayed their cultural performance like folk songs and dances.

The Society has been running English medium Modern School in Bankura town for educating children of the backward communities. Modern schooling in English medium is needed for children of lower middle class families because of the commercialization of private educational institutions and high education costs. Social, health and environmental education, art craft music and dance, karate training has also been provided to the learners.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene : Washing hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community. So Rural Development Society has been giving emphasis to disseminate knowledge and information on WASH among students.
